  1. Very thorough and well thought through rubric! The explanations you gave were very helpful in seeing your thought process when creating this rubric and what your objective was when trying to assess the students. The only thing I would suggest for modifying your rubric is to include some more specific criteria for the real world examples such as explanations. You mention that they need to relate the organelles to a real world place/event and I think that if you include also that they need to explain how the real world example relates rather than just provide an example it would really show that the students understand and were able to think outside the box. As it stands, students could just put the examples without explanations and still get full credit.

  2. I concur with Minh's statements. The explanations helped me (especially not having the bio background) to understand the objectives. Personally, I struggle with trying to create achievement levels that are not too subjective. I wonder if that might be a problem for you with some of your criteria, particularly on neatness. For my students, I would try to be more explicit by using terms like 'legible text' or 'clear spacing', etc. to better articulate my view of neatness.
